Attleboro, MA – Comtran Cable is pleased to announce the addition of three new employees to its operations and sales teams. As Comtran continues to expand into new markets, having an experienced and dynamic team is essential.

Tom Newcomb started at Comtran in September, filling the VP of Operations role. Newcomb has 30 years of wire and cable operations management experience, most recently at Molex and General Cable. He previously spent 7 years with Comtran as Plant Manager. Newcomb will be responsible for the leadership of the 60 member operations team as well as the implementation of world class manufacturing techniques to support the Marmon 80/20 philosophy.

Comtran has also added two new roles to its sales department. Tom Ortolano joined Comtran in October as VP of Sales, responsible for leading the Comtran sales team, developing business opportunities, and creating customized solutions for customer needs. Prior to Comtran, Ortolano spent 17 years at Condux International in various sales roles where he was instrumental in the growth of the company. He also worked in distribution sales at Graybar Electric and TVC/Wesco. His extensive experience and ability to create long-term business relationships will be an asset as Comtran continues to provide innovative, quality products to the marketplace.

Also new to Comtran’s sales team is Dan Ambrose, Sales Manager of Specialty Products. He comes to the company with over 25 years of industry experience. For the past 15 years, he has worked at Southwire and American Insulated Wire in various sales management positions. At Comtran, Ambrose’s role will include developing strategic sales initiatives and cultivating long-term relationships to establish and grow business in major specialty markets, focusing on the transit, military shipboard, power generation, and petrochemical markets.

Joe Barry, Comtran’s President, is confident in the company’s direction going forward. “Our new employees have vast industry experience and proven excellence in their prior roles that make them a great fit as Comtran shifts our focus to specialty markets. We are excited to have them all on board with the Comtran team.”
